Thai Massage
Often called "Lazyman's Yoga," Thai massage is an ancient healing practice rooted in traditional medicine from Thailand. Unlike traditional table massage, Thai massage is performed fully clothed on a floor mat, using a combination of assisted stretching, compression, and rhythmic pressure along the body's energy lines.
The result is a deeply therapeutic experience that improves flexibility, releases chronic tension, and leaves you feeling both relaxed and energized — something most massage styles can't do simultaneously.
At Alchemy House of Yoga in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, we are one of the only studios in Monmouth County offering authentic Thai massage with a certified practitioner.

COMMON QUESTIONS
What should I wear to a Thai massage?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing — think yoga pants and a t-shirt. You'll remain fully clothed throughout the entire session.
Is Thai massage painful?
Thai massage uses firm pressure and deep stretching, so some moments may feel intense — but it should never be painful. Your practitioner will always work within your comfort level.
How is Thai massage different from Swedish massage?
Swedish massage uses oil on bare skin with long gliding strokes. Thai massage is done fully clothed on a floor mat using compression, stretching, and energy line work. It's more active and interactive.
Who is Thai massage good for?
Anyone dealing with tight muscles, limited flexibility, chronic tension, stress, or anyone who wants the benefits of assisted stretching without having to do the work themselves.
How often should I get Thai massage?
For general wellness, once a week or every two weeks is ideal. For specific issues like chronic tightness or stress, weekly sessions for a few weeks can produce noticeable results — which is why our series package is such good value.
