Acupuncture Initial Visit
(90 min $150)
With the primary goal of getting to know you and addressing your specific health concerns, the first acupuncture visit will last for approximately 90 minutes. This allows time for you to complete the Health History and Consent forms, for an in-depth consultation with your practitioner, and for you to experience a full acupuncture treatment. Multiple modalities of East Asian medicine, including Tui Na (massage), Qi Gong (exercise), Cupping, Gua Sha, Moxbustion (burning of Mugwort herb) and Topical Herbal application may be employed in addition to acupuncture during the session, and Herbal formula, dietary recommendation or prescriptive exercise may be suggested for at home practice. Your individual needs will dictate the course of a given treatment or prescription. Treatments can vary greatly from person to person and session to session, and your personal progress will determine your customized schedule for follow-up sessions.
Acupuncture Follow-up Visit
(60 min $100)
As with the initial visit, follow-up visits will begin with a thorough conversation so that we can get to know you and understand how best to address your specific health concerns. We will also ask to observe your tongue, palpate meridians and take your pulses. The acupuncture treatment, in which hair-thin needles are inserted into various points on the body, will follow this diagnostic process. At this time you will relax for 10 to 30 minutes, which allows sufficient time for the treatment to affect your body’s rhythms and cycles. A second round of acupuncture or other East Asian Medical Therapy may follow as indicated by your response to the initial treatment.
Community acupuncture is an affordable option taken place in a relaxed, communal setting. Your session will take place in a group treatment space while you’re cozied up in a semi-private zero-gravity reclining chair.
What to expect
Upon arrival and after filling out intake forms, Anya will first take your pulse, read your tongue, and guide you to one of the open chairs in the group area. Based on assessment, needles will be placed in various points on your arms, legs, ears, face, and head. Then just sit back, relax and enjoy the benefits from this experience. It is recommended that you eat at least 1 hour prior to your service. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early, wearing loose fitting clothing.
Community Acupuncture is currently offered the second Saturday of every month for $45. For more information on acupuncture and East Asian medicine or to learn more about Anya, click here or visit her website www.modern-traditions.com
