Yoga Assists Lab
For Yoga Teachers
Learn how to adjust your students with confidence!
What this workshop will cover:
-
The most common hands-on assists across the full arc of a yoga class — sun salutations, standing poses, backbends, twists, relaxation, and inversions — and how to perform each one with confidence and intention.
-
Assists for every purpose: correcting alignment, helping a student go deeper, and the feel-good touches that make students feel truly cared for.
-
Consent, boundaries, and the art of non-invasive touch — including how to read a student's body language and know when not to assist at all.
-
When to use verbal cues, physical signals, and prop systems — and how to make the ask feel natural, not clinical.
-
Inversion assistance — spotting and supporting shoulderstand, plow, and wall inversions safely.
-
A 2-hour Thai Massage assist deep dive with guest presenter Briana — bodywork principles you can bring directly into your yoga classes.
