Alchemy House of Yoga is proud to announce our very first 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training. Our comprehensive hybrid program is designed to both empower and support you on your forfilling new journey. Conveniently split into E-Learning at your convenience and 10 in-person weeks to apply your knowledge and refine your skills, Alchemy House of Yoga's Teacher Training is a great opportunity to delve deeper into your yoga practice. 

Is a teacher training right for me?

There are many reasons for why you many be interested in doing a teacher training. You may be currently on a journey of self discovery, or rediscovery of the self. Maybe a training could benefit your current profession. Many take trainings to deepen their knowledge of yoga and personal practice. Then there's the obvious, teaching yoga! For many instructors, teaching yoga is a secondary career, like a fun hobby that pays. Whether you want to be a full time teacher, or just teach a class or two on evenings or weekends, a career in teaching yoga can be whatever you want it to be.

 

THE CURRICULUM:

  • The History of Yoga including all the styles and branches. 

  • Yoga Philosophy through the ancient texts, the 8 limbs, and yogic paths.

  • Yoga Asana (poses), their benefits, and how to effectively teach them (verbally, manually, and visually). 

  • Sequencing and how to structure a class (beginners, gentle, open, power).

  • Yoga Assists and how to perform them.

  • Yoga Modifications for the individual student and their unique needs. 

  • Pranayama techniques, and how to effectively teach breathing in class. 

  • Meditation Why we practice it, and how to effectively teach it.

  • Chakras 101, and techniques and asanas to balance the energy channels. 

  • Anatomy of the Asana, the body systems and how stress effects our bodies.

How To Apply
 

Our application process works in two ways:

​

1) Attend one of our info sessions to meet Gina in person. If you've never taken class with Gina, we strongly recommend taking her class prior to the info session. This way, you'll know it's a good fit.

​

2) If you are unable to make one of the info sessions, you can also email us to schedule an in-person meeting with Gina. If you already take class with Gina on a regular basis, scheduling time before or after class is welcomed.

Tuition & Refund Policies

​

Once you are accepted into the program, a non-refundable $500 deposit will be due in order to reserve your spot. If choosing to pay in full by 1/13/24, refunds are permitted up to $500. If the applicant withdraws from the program after acceptance but before the program starts, the $500 deposit will be retained as a credit for future programs only (therefor can not be used towards studio credit). The program will not give any refunds or credits after the training starts. Tuition must be PAID IN FULL by September 13th.

 

The program reserves the right to cancel any training before it begins. In that case any payments applicants have made will be refunded in full.

Get To Know Gina

Gina has a remarkable 20 years working in the wellness industry. Her career started in hospitality (the spa/hotel industry to be exact).

Upon moving to NYC in 2005, she discovered yoga and the amazing affects it had on her body. 

In 2011, she decided to delve deeper into her practice by obtaining her 200YTT in Costa Rica. She has been teaching yoga ever since.

 

Gina is a 500 E-RYT, a licensed Esthetician in both NY & NJ, a level 2 Reiki Practitioner, long studied Aromatherapy and Ayurveda, and is founder of holistic skincare brand Alchemy Holistics as well as Alchemy House of Yoga.

Common Questions

Are there any prerequisites to a 200 hour teacher training?

No. However, it is highly recommended that you have a regular practice already before beginning a teacher training. 

​

Is there a test to pass for certification?

There will be both a short, written test as well as a practical exam. The written test is designed to evaluate where you will need more support and does not determine your certification.The practical exam will require you to teach a 30 minute, well rounded yoga class to a group or your fellow students. 

​

How do the E-Learning modules work?

Each week you will be assigned a section to study. This can be done at your own time and is meant as a convenience throughout your week. When we meet on Fridays, we will go over the module together. Expect being asked randomly and frequently what was covered in that week's module, so preparation is fundamental.

What if I miss a day or two of the training?

Don't stress, make-up sessions will be available. The full attendance policy will be given day 1 of your training, but feel free to contact us with any questions in regards to missed sessions. 

​

Are payment plans available?

Yes! Please contact us directly to discuss your payment plan, however paying in full does offer a discount.

​

I really want to do this training, but I can't afford it. Do you offer financial aid?

Unfortunately we do not, but we may be able to offer a discount as part of our Karma Yogi work exchange program. Please contact us directly for more information.
